Dewitt Community Concert Band
Since 1985

Founded in 1985 by Pat Keilen Jackson, DeWitt Community Concert Band (DCCB) has entertained audiences with their diverse repertoire for over three decades.  The initial 15-person band as grown to as many as 60 over the years.
At Pat's retirement from DCCB, the band continued with conductors Betsy Wilson and Craig Hayward.  Our current conductor, Nicole Leppala has led the band since 2016.
Located in Dewitt, DCCB has received continued support from the DeWitt Public Schools and is thankful to
DeWitt Community Education and school band directors for its support for over 30 years
and continued support for the musical arts.

Community Involvement

DCCB prides itself on performing concerts in the DeWitt community and at large.  Performances at the St. John's Mint Festival and the DeWitt Pumpkin Palooza are favorites of the band as they allow the musicians to interact with their audiences in a fun and relaxed setting. Past community performances include the DeWitt Ox Roast, Wilson Center Holiday Concert, Sleepy Hollow State Park Harvest Festival, and Holiday Concerts at Our Savior Lutheran Church and St. Katherines Episcopal Church in Williamston.

Support DCCB

Over the years DCCB has been supported by people like you through donations that help with purchasing equipment, rental space, music and repairs. DCCB is a 501c3 organization and prides itself on presenting the best performance of fun, familiar favorites and oldies but goodies in concert band repertoire. Let us know if you are interested in becoming part of the DCCB family by sponsoring on of our concerts.

Red Cedar Festival

DCCB is in regular attendance at the Red Cedar Festival, with up to 18 performances at the festival since 2003. This festival is an opportunity for community bands to play in a formal setting with adjudicators to provide feedback on the band's performance. Organized by Meridian Concert Band and held each year at Okemos High School the festival attracts community bands from all over Michigan.

Retirement Community Performances

One of DCCB's favorite performance opportunities is when we share our music with the greater Lansing and local retirement communities. DCCB often performs at Delta Retirement, Burcham Hills, Independence Village, and The Marquette, just to name a few. These performances are highlights of the year, not only the band but for the audience members and their families.
